The Japanese version is often referred to as the Shishimai which translate to the dance of the lion. The lion's head is usually made out of wood or paper mache. The Shishimai will dance in public on very special occasions. The Precious Moments Japan Exclusives Collection.

Designed by Shuhei Fujioka, Precious Moments Master Sculptor. A free black lacquer-style wood base will come with the figurine. The black wood base has minor surface imperfections, hence no longer salable. The original box was opened to inspect & photograph the figurines.
